Swimmers for Swimmers

*** This is a swimmer-led non-profit organization

focused on teaching swim skills and saving lives. ***

MISSION:

Our mission is to provide free swim instruction to underserved children through a partnership between HSC swimmers and the SPARK Youth Development Initiative at The Community House. The SPARK Initiative serves families of unincorporated Willowbrook, an area of DuPage County without convenient and affordable access to a municipal pool. By providing free swim instruction during the Spark Initiative Summer Camp, Swimmers for Swimmers seeks to teach water safety and swim lessons and to hopefully SPARK a love for swimming for years to come.

Children from low-income and African American communities face significantly higher drowning rates - Black children are 5 to 7 times more likely to drown in a pool than white children. Many SPARK campers arrive at summer camp with little or no swim experience. Every child deserves access to swim lessons, and we can help make that possible.

Swimmers for Swimmers is a swimmer founded, led, and managed non-profit committed to furthering the mission of helping children in need to learn about water safety. If you would like to assist here are some ways you can help:
