Hinsdale Swim Club Tryouts

Does your child love to swim? Do you want them to be part of Hinsdale’s oldest swim club which is coached by phenomenal coaches and offers many practice groups based on abilities?

Come try out and continue the fun with Hinsdale Swim Club (HSC), a year-round competitive age group USA Swimming program located in the Hinsdale, Illinois area. HSC offers a comprehensive program designed to address the needs of all levels of competitive swimming ability from new age-group swimmers to elite national championship swimmers.

HSC has a long history and tradition of training our community’s competitive swimmers and competing at the highest level of our sport – a tradition that continues today after more than sixty years. Swimmers compete in USA Swimming meets in the local area throughout the annual season and train at local pools such as Hinsdale Central High School, Hinsdale South High School, Westmont High School and The Hinsdale Community Pool (outdoor 50-meter pool used in the summer months).

Our philosophy of quality versus quantity demonstrates a genuine commitment to our athletes and their families. HSC’s quality commitment ensures that our practices will not become overcrowded, thus enabling our coaches to give individualized attention to each swimmer.

Many of our groups implement a WUTS (Warm Up To Swim) program, which involves strengthening activities out of the water to functionally develop the appropriate muscles for swimming while helping to prevent injury.

We offer over 15 practice groups to help swimmers of all levels practice in an efficient and effective way. There are multiple offerings of practices to fit into swimmers’ busy lives. And, these practice groups take part in social events together. Kids’ training partners become friends in and out of the pool.

HSC Tryouts for the Short Course Fall / Winter 2025 - 2026 Season

Note: Tryouts are for swimmers who are age 12 or younger. If your swimmer is older than 12, please contact us at [email protected] to determine if we have room for your child to join HSC for the short course season.

Minimum requirement to try out with HSC: Swimmer must be able to swim 25 yards of both freestyle and backstroke, and have a working knowledge of breaststroke and butterfly.

Step 2: Bring this completed form to tryouts: (link for tryout sheet )

Swimmer should wear their swimsuit and bring goggles and a towel, and a cap, if they choose.

Step 3: Attend one of our tryout dates listed below. Swimmers will be individually evaluated. The tryout will take approximately 15-30 mins. You do not have to arrive right at the beginning. Swimmers will be evaluated in the order they arrive.

Tryout Date: Wednesday, July 16, 2025

Times: 4:00-6:00 pm (Please arrive no earlier than 3:50pm)

Tryout Date: Tuesday, August 12, 2025

Times: 7:30-8:30 pm (Please arrive no earlier than 7:10pm)

Tryout Date: Saturday, August 16, 2025

Times: 9:00-10:00 am (Please arrive no earlier than 8:50am)
